What Should You Do If You’re Bitten By A Zombie?

If the zombie apocalypse is upon us, it might seem like there’s no reason to worry about the 10-minute rule. But even in the event of total zombies, there are still some precautions you can take to make sure your workout hits all your body’s major muscle groups.

At the core of this approach is an easy-to-remember acronym: WOOP. WOOP stands for:

  • Warm-up
  • Outcome
  • Obstacle
  • Plan

This is the basic idea:

Warm up first. Working out with a cold body can cause injury, and working out with a cold body when the world has come to an end may get your attacked by a zombie. Make sure you warm up your muscles first.

Set a goal. You’re not trying to get your workout over with as quickly as possible. You’re trying to get in a workout. So, if you’re able to quickly bug out of town, plan on doing so. If you’re hiding in a bunker, or if you’re injured and can’t move very far, you’ll need to make a plan to get a workout.

The ULTIMATE Zombie Survival Kit

Written by: Bobby Clay

Preface

The zombie genre has been a pop-culture staple for the past decade. Zombie movies are a dime a dozen, and you’ve probably seen quite a few of them. They range from the funny antics of the brainless corpses to the brutal no-holds-barred apocalyptic gore-fest, but they all have one thing in common: using zombies as a metaphor for something else.

Generally the zombies are used as a metaphor for some type of social issue, raising the question of how far humans will go to protect themselves, and the ethics of using other humans as a means to an end. But the more basic question is: What would we do if we found ourselves in a world full of zombies?

Well, here’s your chance to find out. Here is your guide to surviving the zombie apocalypse.

Step 1: Recognize the Signs

You won’t have much of a chance if you don’t recognize the early signs. The first step to surviving a zombie attack is to know that it is happening. Here’s how to tell if the end is nigh:

A large percentage of the population starts to rot.

Your friends and family are acting strange and have poor hygiene.

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Weapons

If you want to survive a zombie apocalypse, you are going to need weapons. And, right now, you may be thinking, “But they’re already dead. What’s the worst they could do to a living human?”

Well, let me tell you. After the initial attack, they will try to eat human flesh.

Body parts, skin, fingers, toes, eyeballs, ears, heads… they will eat it all. I will give you a moment to clean off your screen.

So how do you avoid this?

You fight back!

After zombies have taken a bite out of you, find medical attention or put those zombie apocalypse survival skills to use and fight your way to your next living human.

There’s a lot of talk about what zombie apocalypse survival weapons to use.

Here’s my turn. And it’s brutal: knives, guns, arrows, hand-to-hand… I’m leaving those up to you.

But, if you’re a minimum of 5’5” and the apocalypse comes?

I’m sticking with the shoe.

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Tools

The zombie apocalypse is rapidly approaching, so it’s very important that you get prepared in time. The end times are near, so this is not a drill.

We know that you are busy and can’t afford the luxury of taking it slow, but your life is really on the line. It doesn’t matter if you are single, married, eating right, exercising or exercising regularly, you need to be ready.

So here are some zombie apocalypse survival tips that can help you build your arsenal. It is of the utmost importance that you follow these steps if you are to survive.

Get the Basics Right

Get your basics right and this will go a long way in helping you to survive. This means making sure you are eating the right foods. Your brain is mostly made up of fats and proteins. As energy providers, they are very important for survival. So make sure they form part of your diet, which means starting to eat more fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, mackerel, and trout.

If you work out regularly, you should also be adding protein to your diet. While fats and proteins can be got from many sources including meat, nuts, and eggs, but if you workout, you should consider taking protein supplements to support your workouts.

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Gear

How would you survive the zombie apocalypse? Here is your zombie survival gear list:

  • A gun
  • A knife
  • Non-perishable food supplies
  • Backpack
  • Water
  • Medical supplies
  • First aid kits
  • Lightproof bag
  • Camouflage outfit
  • A water purifier
  • Gun

A high-calibre semi-automatic handgun is generally the best starting gun. It can be used to take down zombies quickly, and most importantly it won’t take up much room in your backpack.

Knife

Also useful for taking down zombies, it also has a number of other uses. For example, you can use it to defend yourself against other humans who might try to take your supplies.

Food

Make sure to mostly stock non-perishable foods. If you are loading up on canned goods, make sure the cans you buy are low in salt and have no extra sugar.

Backpack

You’re going to want a big backpack that can carry all of your supplies. Think of it this way: the cost of a backpack should be less than or equal to the supplies that it can carry. A backpack isn’t necessary, but it is a good way to carry a decent amount of weight and also to collect supplies.

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Clothing

If you're planning to be facing hordes of living-dead flesh-eating freaks, the first thing you should consider is clothing. Here are some tips:

Silhouette is the most important thing when it comes to blending into a zombie crowd. Most experts recommend a plain outfit, such as a collared shirt and jeans.

Dark colors will also help you blend in well. You should also make sure there aren't any garish patterns, as these could bring unwanted attention.

Ensure that your clothing is tough, resilient and durable. Rip-resistant clothing is imperative and you'll want to avoid thin, flimsy material that's vulnerable to attack.

You should also choose a fabric that can help you regulate body temperature. If you're running around in the warm sun, clothes that will absorb moisture will help you keep cool even if you're dripping with sweat.

Another thing to consider is pockets. Most of the time, you'll only have a limited amount of time to act, so you'll need to be able to get to your gear quickly.

Keep your firearms accessible. Since these will be your first line of defense against the zombie hordes, you should carry them on a secure clip on your belt.

You don't want to have to dig through a duffle bag, briefcase or backpack. Get a holster that can securely hold your hand gun, but still allow quick drawing and quick shooting.

Zombie Apocalypse Survival Skills

As the world’s population dramatically increases over the next half of a century, sociologists expect society to collapse. Based on research, there is a 95% chance that somewhere on the planet, civilization will grind to a halt.

Why do they say this?

Because of the 7 billion people living on Earth currently, it also comes with a 7 billion+ potential number of humans that can be killed off.

For example, if the next plague will kill 100 million people, we are already at a 6 billion loss just from this disease.

When you add in unstable weather, increased threat of terrorism, new diseases, geopolitical crises, and any number of other natural disasters, the world is more vulnerable than ever before.

Whether you live in a large city, located in the middle of a desert, or you are on a remote island in the ocean, there are ways to prepare yourself for the worst so that you and your family can survive the coming apocalypse.

How To Kill A Zombie

Zombies are one of the most popular monsters. You can catch them roaming around on TV, books, movies, games, and even on the streets! They are in part so popular because no one likes the thought of being attacked and turned into one of the undead.

Because this is such a painful thought, we’re going to dedicate this chapter to the extreme measures you can take if you have to protect yourself or your loved ones against a Zombie Attack.

Of course, it’s important to know what types of Zombies there are. There are many different kinds of these deceased maniacs. But, the most popular are those of the violent variety. However, some zombies do exist that merely wish to eat your brains, while others seek to devour your life force or spit on the sanctity of the grave.

You may run into any of these and each of them is dangerous in their own way. The good news is that almost all Zombies can be dealt with in a similar way. By breaking their bones! There are only two areas of the body that a zombie can be killed; the brain and the heart. It’s difficult to target either of these organs with extreme accuracy, so it’s more likely that you will be attacking their limbs.

Zombie Health & Fitness Survival Guide

People tend to think that Zombies are made from a virus that turns people into semi-animals that mindlessly eat the living and spread the virus.

Surprisingly, that’s not the case. The stories about Zombies that we hear and experience tend to be rumors or urban legends that grow into fear for things that may or may not occur.

After years of research, scientists can determine how the virus turns people into Zombies. Due to the virus’s ability to control the body, the virus is sentient and is capable of eating any living thing.

A Zombie’s first instinct is to eat the nearest living thing in order to spread the virus. Humans are, of course, the most delicious and most abundant creature on Earth.

Figuring out how to stop the virus is difficult because there is no known cure. Once a person has been infected, they can, and most likely will turn into one.

Without a cure, an infection will continue to spread.

Preparation Is Key

You can’t survive a Zombie Apocalypse without preparation. Any extra supplies or knowledge that you have can help you in the long run.

Sourcing Supplies

While you’re busy barricading yourself in a solid structure and have a couple of weeks to prepare, the last thing you should worry about is food, water, and supplies.

If you need to do some mid-crisis hunting, there are some things you need to keep in mind.

First of all, keep in mind that you can’t go out empty-handed. You need to be properly equipped with items that can defend you, protect you, and help you delve through the abandoned ruins of civilization. While it’s tempting to grab what you can and run, that’s a recipe for getting killed. Learn to think tactically.

The trick is to find the right balance between preparedness and weight.

You’ll also need to think about weight capacity and fuel economy.

Weight Capacity

Whether you’re taking a vehicle or hiking cross-country, you’ll need something that carries the gear you’ll need while still having extra cargo space for scavenging supplies (at least until you find a permanent safe spot to hole up).

A small pickup truck or cargo van will serve you best. Don’t forget to pack extra gas cans and a portable siphon setup.

Building Fires Without Fuel

Making A Shelter

If you have some experience in construction or carpentry, making a makeshift bunker could be relatively easy.

If you don’t, use whatever you have lying around and improvise.

Buying a metal storage unit like those used for camping or sports equipment is a great option. Some of them have a hole in the middle that would allow you to sleep in a cocoon-like arrangement. They’re also airtight; just make a lid to cover it.

If you can manage it, building a bunker is a very big step forward. You’ll be protected from the elements and also be able to keep the supply of weapons and ammunition nearby. It’s also a great storage for food and water (in the smaller spaces available in the bunker).

Most people didn’t take this step because it can be pretty difficult to do at home. Don’t be daunted, though. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Even if you decide not to have a bunker, you should still store your reserves of food and water somewhere safe.

How To Zombie Proof Your House & Perimeter

(If You Had 30 Seconds To Escape)

By Michael Sweeney on Mon, 05/29/2011 – 00:40.

The zombie apocalypse is a legitimate concern for your safety and we offer a unique perspective on how you may quickly escape in the event of an undead uprising.

The following information is based on the assumption that zombies are real and that they infect the human population. Each strategy outlined below assumes that you have survived the initial outbreak by locking yourself in a secure structure. Each strategy also assumes that you have a car or vehicle available and that you can effectively escape the confines of the surrounding area.

The first step in escaping a zombie attack is to hit the road. Once you have safely evaded immediate danger you can begin the process of reaching a remote location. If you are in a contained area such as a city, it is extremely important that you reach a suburb or a rural area miles away.

There are a few important things to remember while trying to escape a zombie attack. First off it is imperative that no one sees you loading up your car with supplies or leaving the area. If possible assume that someone is watching or has seen you. It is important that you avoid any contact with other survivors and zombie infected individuals. If you are forced to encounter people and you are forced to engage, it is your responsibility to kill them.

Preparation: The Zombie Escape Plan

You’d better believe it, people. The zombie apocalypse is coming! It’s predicted by scientists, IT gurus, and even the CDC. The only thing we don’t know is when it will happen.

There will come a day when the dead rise and feed on the living. Blood and guts will spill all over the place. People will get eaten alive, limb by limb, until they’re no more.

Most will die. But not you. Nope. You’ll be ready…well…at least in your mind. You may have even started doing this long before you even knew what a zombie was. Why? It’s survival instinct. And if you’re reading this, you’re probably a huge Survivor fan.

You’re always watching Dr. Oz, reading the latest fad diets, and of course, drinking lots of water. But what’s prepared you for a zombie apocalypse?

  • Basic survival skills that will enable you to walk through the undead undetected.
  • Survival skills that will help you find food, water, and shelter.

Step 1 – Build A Secondary Base

IF You Have The Resources.

Imagine a scenario when you’re far from home with your immediate family and the zombie apocalypse is at full speed. Living in a cabin in the woods with the closest neighbor a mile away and surrounded by 30 acres of farm land is ideal.

What’s even better is that you own 50 acres across the street. Getting to the cabin would take you 20 minutes, running like a bat out of hell.

The cabin is already built, with a great deal of supplies stocked in it. Your family is self-sustained—ready to ride out any situation. If it were an earthquake, you could bunker down. If it was a hurricane, the cabin is an “A” frame. It’s built to withstand all weather conditions.

To get to the cabin would be a very similar run to get to any rural based interstate in a normal geographical area. There are advantages to being in the city. If you can get to a military reserve, there may be provisions in place for safety.

You need to be able to assess the situation and take action fast. Being in a city where things are happening more often may give you a better chance to survive. If you’re in the city, there is a good chance your city established emergency measures already.

Step 2 – Build A Spare Zombie Survival Kit

If you’re going to be traveling around a lot on a regular basis, it might be really hard to keep your bug-out bag handy. You may have to secure it in your car or on your bike, making it hard to access if you get lost. Luckily, there’s a hack that allows you to easily keep it accessible no matter where you are. You can make your own mini bug-out bag to keep in your backpack, your pocket, your glove compartment or even your purse. It’s an easily accessible survival kit that you can always keep with you, no matter where you go. These little bags are accessible and transportable … they’re also very easy to make.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 2-liter plastic bottle
  • Marker
  • Scissors
  • First aid kit
  • Empty bag that will fit over the bottle

Step 3 – How To Zombie Proof Your Car

For the purpose of this zombie survival guide, the vehicle in which you ride will be referred to as your Zombie Propelled Vehicle or Z.P.V.

As in all things zombie related, speed is your friend, and you can only afford one shot at getting out of a jam. Unfortunately, most of the time you’re going to be driving in congested urban centers where the odds of finding a car parking space are pretty long. Here are some tips for finding parking spots and squeezing into those tiny spots that those zombie hunting boy racers usually leave for you.

If one is readily available, you’d be crazy not to take it.

Step 4 – Planning [Multiple] Escape Routes

Before you can get anywhere, you’re going to need a well-thought-out plan. That may sound difficult on paper, but here’s the thing: Most of the work has already been done for you, and the zombie apocalypse survival guide can roll out the whole shebang in less that 10 minutes.

Step 5 – Testing Your Escape Plans

Of course, all of your well thought-out plans are worthless if you don’t have the self-discipline to carry them out. If you haven’t been practicing your escape plan on a regular basis, then odds are pretty slim that you’ll manage to make a successful getaway when it‒s time to leave. You’ll be faced with so many new variables that will require split-second decision-making and all of your plans may go out the window. If this happens, you’ve basically shot yourself in the foot … you’re as good as dead.

In order to actually be prepared, your plan needs to be practiced. That means escaping (or getting away from) the confines of your home. It means getting yourself to a safe place with new people. Essentially, it means being able to handle yourself in an entirely brand new environment. Practice this until it becomes second nature.

Where Will You Go?

Though it may not seem like it, this is the most important step. The place where you spend your remaining days of life will ultimately stretch beyond your own borders. It’s your responsibility to make things great for yourself and for others as well. So what will you do?

There are two options to consider.
